Er schied aus dem Polizeidienst, weil ein Trauma ihn verfolgt. Jetzt wohnt Berringer auf einem Hausboot im Düsseldorfer Hafen und ermittelt privat. Der Textilbaron Peter Gerath aus Krefeld ruft den Ermittler zu Hilfe, nachdem bereits zwei Anschläge auf ihn verübt worden sind. Erst vergeht sich jemand an Geraths Pferden, dann soll es dem Produzenten von High-Tech-Fasern selbst an den Kragen gehen. Berringer taucht in einen Sumpf des Verbrechens - immer verfolgt von den Dämonen in seinem eigenen Kopf. Die Textil-Mafia der Seidenstadt zieht die Samthandschuhe aus und Tote pflastern das Krefelder Parkett. Doch auch die schrägen Charaktere aus der Familie des Textilbarons haben gute Gründe, sich des Patriarchen zu entledigen..
Berringer ist ein Ermittler, der an Verschrobenheit seinem TV-Kollegen Monk in nichts nachsteht.
DER ARMBRUSTMÖRDER
Auf dem Korschenbroicher Schützenfest verfehlt das Projektil einer Armbrust nur knapp den Moderator und Event Manager Thomas Marwitz. Privatdetektiv Robert Berringer ermittelt - und stößt sehr bald auf Eckart Krassow. Der hat sowohl die entsprechende Waffe als auch ein Motiv: Er möchte an Marwitz' Stelle die Eröffnungsveranstaltung der Hockey WM in Mönchengladbach moderieren. Doch wenig später wird er tot aufgefunden, und kurz darauf werden zwei weitere Armbrustmorde verübt. Gibt es eine Verbindung zwischen den Opfern? Ein kniffliger Fall für Berringer.

My experiences in shiwboz as a lad indicate the list is far from complete. Half the people in shiwboz are gay, bi, lesbian, the others are alcoholic neurotics, and, to make it spicier, and/or into the black occult and even mob-run!There were/are normal people in shiwboz, too, but the nature of the game, the lifestyle, means it attracts weird people.I'll not forget Doris Day recounting 'the meeting' all would-be stars have when they arrive in Hollywood to sign a big contract. They ask what scandals and other things that needed to be kept secret. If you forgot just one thing that then came out and caused a problem Hollywood would crush you totally, you would never work anywhere in the world again.As Hollywood is run by the Mob, using the Jews as a front, they were talking more than a horses head here. They more than inferred a serious breach would result in a contract on your head. Doris gulped when told to write down all the guys and girls she'd ever had sex with. "I'm a (wherever she came from) farm-girl, I've been at it since I was eight! It would be easier and quicker to note the ones I HAVEN'T f##ked!"God, did we all laugh!So Hollywood, indeed American shiwboz (as this was also run by the Mob - source: Frank Sinatra, he told me this himself) had the dirt on all their actors/singers.Thus arranged marriages are the norm, all in the name of the big buck ...and to cover the fact that both parties are gay. If the girl gets pregnant (there is a clause they are not allowed to 'change shape' during the specified contract period unless the studio approves) she is aborted, and if the press get onto it a cover-story is put out (for example: Marilyn Monroe, she got pregnant too easy, wanted to have it, and managed to hide it a couple of times, thus they had to drug her, a very late and dangerous abortion had to be done, they covering it by saying she had problems carrying full-term - no, not at all).The masonic connection just makes it worse. I know that the elder brother of a famous American comedy-team was an Illuminati high-priest. His brothers told me this! They tried to avoid that sort of thing.It wasn't just their talent that make them successful, their brother's connections guaranteed success.There were several 'banned' people in London shiwboz circles, as they had dangerous masonic connections, the brother one, Robert Wagner, Holden, and Steve McQueen were others.But on the whole I had a great time, met a lot of nice people. Often showered with them, none ever touched me (other than the girls, who were rather spritely!)
